The name is inspired by the hotel’s original restaurant, Den Mauriske Hall - a magnificent room that has been an iconic meeting place in the capital since the 1920s.
The hotel’s architect, Finn Rahn, found his inspiration in the Moorish architecture he experienced on his trips to Morocco. The result was an extravagent room with curved shapes, intricate details and an ambiance that took guests on a journey to a remote and exotic world. This distinctive style has been maintained, even after al these years.
With the new name Mauriske Salonger, we want to highlight this rich history and preserve the Moorish heritage. Here, you can still enjoy Hotel Bristol’s classic sandwiches, delicious sweets and traditional afternoon tea - all in a setting that exudes both elegance and culture.
Welcome to the Mauriske Salonger - a little bit of Morocco in the heart of Oslo.
