1. Location
Choosing a central location will be appreciated by your guests. This makes it easy and inexpensive for them to get to and from the wedding, but it also makes it easy to find an accommodation for guests who want to spend the night. Hotel Bristol is located in the heart of Oslo within walking distance of the railway station, surrounded by public transport services and experiences guests can enjoy before or after the celebration.
There's also something special about getting married in a bustling city centre. If your ceremony is held elsewhere in the city centre, the wedding party can walk through the city as a group and enjoy the attention all the way to the reception location.
2. You don't have to work part-time as an event planner
It’s no secret that a wedding requires lots of planning and many brides and grooms experience quite a bit of stress during much of the planning process. There are a surprisingly large number of decisions to make and getting everything to be just right is more time-consuming than you might think. Not only do you need to pick colours for everything from flowers to napkins and invitations, but you also need to keep the dialogue going with the caterer, serving staff, pastry chef, music system rental company and others.
If you have your wedding at Bristol, you can get help with most of these things. And you decide how involved you want to be in the planning process.
We have fantastic event coordinators with years of experience in planning and coordinating, who can take care of everything from dinner, the wedding cake and evening snacks to flowers, decorations and a dance floor. This makes it easy for you to enjoy your special day without worrying about all the details.
3. Guaranteed ambiance
For 100 years, milestones both big and small have been celebrated at Bristol - precisely because of its beautiful historic character. The hotel was designed by architect Finn Rahn. He was particularly famous for the design of Den Mauriske Hall, which today houses the Mauriske Salonger and is the first room you see on entering Bristol.
The Moorish style and characteristic interior are well preserved and historical elements also adorn the rest of the hotel. Elegant chandeliers, stuccowork, columns, wall decorations and sophisticated textiles create a truly unique ambiance befitting a festive celebration.
4. Memorable culinary experience
When you hold your celebration at Bristol, you enjoy the culinary creations of skilled chefs that are sure to be remembered. Chef Johan Laursen and the kitchen’s creative director Filip August Bendi - who has experience from the restaurant Noma in Copenhagen and Norwegian Culinary Team - feel strongly about pure flavours and seasonal ingredients, used to prepare both Norwegian and international dishes.
You can choose between different banquet menus and, of course, have the opportunity to taste everything in advance to find the perfect combinations for your special day.
Some of Europe’s best pastry chefs also work at the hotel and can conjure up whatever you desire for a sweet finish to your meal.
5. You can have your wedding ceremony and reception at the same location
It is also possible to have the entire wedding at Bristol. Together with the hotel , you can decide where to hold the ceremony.
And if you're having your ceremony at the Oslo Courthouse, the hotel is also only a few minutes’ walk away. Practical and convenient!
6. There’s room for everyone

We will find the perfect space for your celebration in keeping with the number of guests.
7. Hassle-free technology
A wedding requires a lot of technical equipment. There are speeches to be held, visuals to displayed on a screen and sometimes even a performance for all guests. Hotel Bristol has excellent technical equipment that includes audio systems, microphones, projectors and floodlights. It is also possible to set up a stage. As the icing on the cake, the hotel has experts to operate the equipment for you, so that neither the toastmaster nor Uncle Bob needs to fiddle with the cables.
8. No cleaning up afterwards
One thing is for sure, you won't have to get up early to tidy up on our first day as a married couple. When you hold your celebration at Bristol, you don't have to worry about cleaning up after the party - we take care of that. This way, you can enjoy the evening until the very end and focus on breakfast and each other the next morning.
9. Bridal suite at the same location
If you've held your reception at Bristol, you won't need to think about the trip home after the party when it's time to call it a night. You can simply spend the night only a few steps away from the banquet room. The hotel has different room types, including six luxury suites.
Want the entire wedding party to stay at the hotel? We have 251 comfortable rooms available.
10. Start your marriage with a breakfast buffet
When you wake up on your first day as a married couple, you'll be ready for breakfast. And it should be a memorable one. Bristol is known for its extensive breakfast buffet with everything imaginable: Fresh smoothies, freshly brewed coffee, homemade bread, pancakes, fluffy croissants, a wide variety of fruit and much more.
