Salute to a hero
Carl J. Hambro (1885–1964) was a Norwegian press baron, author and politician. He was the Editor-in-chief of Morgenbladet, and known as an effective speaker and rhetorician. He was particularly famous for his political efforts during the German occupation. When the Germans invaded, he organised the evacuation of the government and royal family, and later drafted the famous ‘Elverumsfullmakten’ policy. Hambro stayed at the Bristol on several occasions, and the suite now named after him also faces onto Hambros Plass.

Room for luxury
This suite consists of hall, bedroom and lounge, with the latter equipped with a sofa group and dining table. The rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated, including a 180 cm luxury bed, and practical articles such as a desk, hair dryer, phone, safe, iron and ironing board.
Turndown service
And to give you that extra touch of luxury, we have included our turndown service. That means that we prepare the room for your evening by pulling the curtains, removing the bedspread and putting out water, slippers and extra wellness products.
French wellness
You can expect a welcoming dressing gown and slippers, and enjoy an extra large range of bodycare products from the French L'Occitane brand. The products are based on ethereal oils and natural ingredients from Provence, filling the room with a seductive lemony scent.
Sound and vision
Unwind to your favourite music or a good podcast on the room's wireless Bose speaker. A TV and complimentary Wi-Fi are also at hand.
Refreshments within easy reach
If you need to quench your thirst or start the day with a cup of coffee in bed, this is the right room to do so. A minibar, coffee machine and a bottle of water are all provided.
